Dear Andy Coulson,
I appreciate that you are busy with the Conservative Party conference, but how on earth did you let so many Labour blunders in one day go completely unnoticed? I’m sure you were keen to get Cameron on a couple of the front pages. However, a bad day for Labour would have been the perfect springboard for our conference.
The new Ministry of Justice has had a shocking day in the press. Firstly, they scrapped the £2.6 billion scheme for rehabilitating offenders, which was labelled “expensive, bureaucratic, and added nothing to the front line”. Secondly, Jack Straw was branded ‘irresponsible’ for his suggestions about new laws on self-defence that the Labour Party had already rejected a few years ago on the grounds that they were unnecessary, and police chiefs expressed serious concern that this type of law would lead to a rise in vigilantism. Thirdly, Jacqui Smith at the Home Office should have been torn apart for having no idea about the level of immigration in this country and the horrifying predictions for how many immigrants will come into this country over the next few decades.
This was a missed opportunity to score political points over Labour, and the truth is that the Conservatives cannot afford to miss opportunities at the moment. Hopefully these issues will be brought to the fore at the Conservative Party conference.
Yours sincerely,
A.Tory

Big Brother Government:
Dear Mr Letters form a Tory,
Can you tell your mate Dave at his party hoedown that the Great British Unwashed (Electorate).
That we are pissed off with Labour, pissed off with the Conservatives, pissed off with Government Snooping, so called Eco Taxes, Stealth Taxes, the waste that is ID cards the Police who have become an arm of the revenue service screwing the motorist and we are pissed off with life in the UK.
Under comrade Stalin you know were you stood.
Under Labour the fifth columnists are leading the government. Labour are more akin to Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-PF.
Mr LfaT, when are we going to get a news paper (contraindication in terms news paper) the media in general or a columnist, that is going to expose on a weekly basis our Big Brother Government and the MP’s ongoing snout in the trough. With their ever expanding expenses and pensions yet they can’t give the nurses their pay rise?
The British people deserve more from their government than just snooping on ordinary working people and MP’s lining their own pockets with tax payer’s money on expenses and subsidies for houses in London.
We have police forces that care more for catching motorists and bring the whole police machine to bear on the motorist for doing 35 in a 30 zone, than catching the scum that murder, rape, shoot stab, rob, steal and destroy the lives of ordinary decent folk.
We the great British unwashed are wholly to blame for this situation for we ultimately elect the ass holes into power. However once in power they forget the promises that they gave to the great unwashed and go off and do all in their power to screw the great unwashed the people who put them there.
I leave you with this, turnout at the last election was.
England
59.12%
Northern Ireland
68.04%
Scotland

Liberal Democrat

To get into government in the UK give the great unwashed what we want.
So how about this as a novel idea, government of the people for the people by the people. There again too much to ask for I know.

I agree that politicians are out of touch. For all their talk of listening to the public, they fail to listen to pretty much the entire country (unless the country agrees with them, of course).
The level of intrusion in our private lives is dispicable and government targets horribly distort the behaviour of our police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers and every other public sector worker. I can only hope that David Cameron can get himself into government and start to change all of this.
